Verified ReviewerScam text and *** attempts
I have been getting a relentless amount of texts, emails, and calls from scam companies who have also tried to access my investment accounts as a result of breaches or the lack of vetting of employers by Indeed. They have no number available for customers, leaving no sense of urgency in addressing the matter.
It is very clear that whatever data you submit to Indeed is something that you should be willing to lose, as there is no protection provided to customers. There isn't even pretending to care.
Every day, there's another one, and at this point, it's beyond me. Once I realized that this is a larger problem that Indeed refuses to address, it led me to a place of just being completely livid!
- Lot of options
- Many are fake and scam companies now
- No vetting process for companies that are being given our data
Preferred solution: Accountability and protection
User's recommendation: Avoid putting your profile and information on indeed.

Subject: Concern Regarding Job Postings Requiring Payment for Training
Dear Indeed Support Team,
I am writing to express my concern about a recurring issue I have encountered on Indeed's platform. On multiple occasions, I have applied to job postings that, after an initial selection process, require candidates to pay for training or certification programs costing thousands of dollars. This practice raises several concerns:
1. Misleading Job Postings: Such postings present themselves as genuine employment opportunities but later reveal mandatory, costly training programs, which is deceptive to job seekers.
2. Financial Burden on Job Seekers: Individuals seeking employment are often not in a position to afford expensive training, making these practices exploitative.
3. Potential Violation of Indeed's Policies: According to Indeed's Job Posting Standards, job seekers should be provided with job opportunities at no cost, and fees or required training coming at a cost to job seekers may indicate predatory employment practices. (Indeed's Job Posting Standards)
I believe that allowing such postings undermines the trust and integrity of Indeed's platform. I kindly request that Indeed review and enforce its policies to prevent employers from posting misleading job advertisements that require candidates to pay for training. This will ensure a fair and trustworthy experience for all users.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
Dr. William Rodríguez

Verified ReviewerThe job you referred was a scam
I was offered a job to work at home. I had gone onto Indeed for job searching.
I saw one for the exact area I used to live in. Well, I bypassed it. I then got a call from Indeed about that job. I let them know I no longer live in that area.
So, I continued looking through Indeed. I came across the same job in my area that I live in now. I applied and got the job within minutes. Then Indeed called me back to let me know that this company had changed their location to my area.
I let the lady know that I had already applied and received the job. I worked for a week; at first, I could not reach anyone if I had questions. They did say I wouldn't start to receive time worked until I received my package and sent it on to the customer. And that my first pay date would be about 3 months out.
So, finally, I got a package. It was addressed to someone else with my address. I am to open the package, make sure nothing is broken, then copy the customer's address, repackage it, and go to the post office and mail it off. My package was like 120 small pieces of Legos.
Something just didn't sound right, so I quit. Now, this was back in November or January 2024. I didn't want to use Indeed anymore. Now, the past few weeks, I keep getting personal emails from Indeed saying a certain job would be perfect for me.
I feel like Indeed doesn't screen the employers very well.
And I am wondering if Indeed even knows what happened. Could someone please respond to this issue I am having?
- It gives help in locating a job
- Job could be a scam
Preferred solution: Apology
User's recommendation: They hire scammers
I was scammed by a company that used the information from Indeed to contact me
A company from indeed, contacted me posing as a legit business and scammed me for 900 dollars. They claimed that the job was to open apps to help companies gain more views for the phone apps.
Seemed legit for about 2 days until they scammed me out of 900 dollars. I have the messages from telegram as well as the message they first sent to me on my phone

Well, I'm a Malawian living in Malawi. When I try to sign in with Indeed, I'm barred because the country listing for the phone number does not include Malawi. Any reason?

Verified ReviewerPhone validator not working
I've been trying for months to validate my phone number with zero success. I don't have a landline and can't get a voice call because they insist on texting.
I cancelled my account and tried to start another. It's the same issue as before. Indeed is the best job site out there.
At this juncture, I am going to research other avenues. I have wasted enough time on indeed.com security measures.
- Great job postings
- Non functioning security features
Preferred solution: To start an account and not be constantly hammered for my phone number. Beyond my profile. Authentication apps are more valuable than my my number.
User's recommendation: Never change your phone number with indeed.

Verified ReviewerCom Supercuts is the worst I want you all to know that they charged me to take a class $350 and denied me workplaint
You sent me a job at Supercut. They put me through rigorous training after 35 years of cutting hair.
They said I wasn't good enough and charged me $350 for my training because I didn't comb the hair the way they instructed. This is ridiculous.
You need to tell people that they will be charged when advertising that they give free training. I feel sick to my stomach.
- I love them
- Need to follow up
Preferred solution: Apology
User's recommendation: Nobody go to work for supercut they're awful ruthless

Verified ReviewerResolved: Ready to stop using Indeed.com due to your cloudfare security product not working correctly
Note PissedConsumer.com cut off most of my update so now it does not provide the understanding needed. And there's no "Edit" option for the Updates like some of the other fields. Hopefully, it will leave this one alone!
Correction --- I am not a paying customer of Indeed since use of their site is free for those who are job searching. However, I do have a user login and verified account. While there may be paid services offered to job seekers, my understanding is Employers are normally the only 'users' who pay (for job postings & related services).
Within minutes of sending the complaint via PissedConsumer.com, Indeed.com "Social Care" (Support) emailed me with an apology, further questions and a list of things to try and resolve the issue. After going through the list, I was eventually able to resolve the issue, however, it only worked after adding the Indeed.com link to the browser's (web site domain) Cookie Exception's list. Indeed's prompt response was impressive and it seems to be solved for now, but keeping Indeed.com at 4 Stars since I was forced to go through a 3rd party (pissedconsumer.com) to get access to Indeed support, and of course I had to add the Cookies exception for Indeed for Cloudfare to declare I'm human for continuing to Log into & use Indeed.com.
Apology, and a list of things to try for fixing the issue. Note I could not even contact Indeed.com support directly due to this issue (with Cloudfare looping & not validating me as 'human').
All this said, if I'm ready to leave indeed.com for other job search sites, then I'm not the only one. You may just want to fix this as soon as possible before it's too late.
Regards,
William
- Great job web site
- Cloudfare security loops on login and to see job details
Preferred solution: Fix the security issue with cloudfare to stop it from thinking real customers are bots. Otherwise, I'm done with using indeed.com.
User's recommendation: Great job site, but their cloudfare security solution is horrible

Verified Reviewer |They banned my account for no reason at all
what did i do wrong to get my account banned? i followed all steps that i can.
i submit all the documents i should've and followed all the rules. this is wrong years preparing and weeks of hard work posting jobs trying to find workers just to get my account banned and discriminated against. i feel highly discriminated against because you can see i'm working very hard to try to better myself and indeed tries take away my dream. i been working 10 years to try to accomplish the dream.
i probably worked as hard as anyone you know trying to accomplish my dream "on google too it says Yes, you can post as many jobs as you want on Indeed for free. There is no limit to the number of free job postings you can make. However, free job postings do lose visibility over time as new jobs are added. To maintain higher visibility, you can also choose to sponsor your jobs, which requires a paid budget.
" if that's not true why lie to the public? this is super wrong to banned my account without explanation. all i wanted to do is make my dream come true and help make the world a better place.
lastly this is why people commit suicide playing with peoples lives causing them to lose everything. just please help me

Verified ReviewerVery rude unprofessional recruiter
Very rude recruiter, calling me names in an unprofessional manner. Having someone work for your company and talk to people like that is unacceptable.
You're lucky I don't call the authorities and have them turned in. The numbers in the pictures show you exactly the phone number from which I'm receiving these text messages.
Preferred solution: The recruiter needs to lose his job. He doesn’t need to be talking to people like that are creating people like that that’s very unprofessional.

Indeed does not share personal data with 3rd parties, except when you are a jobseeker applying for a job on their site or an employer paying to post an opening on their site. Were you a jobseeker?
If so, you are not a customer of Indeed's, as they do not charge anything for jobseekers to browse the job openings and apply to jobs. If you are an employer who posts jobs, then you should know their number.
I'm going to guess that you answered some blind ads and gave out personal information without investigating who you were talking to. If so, that is your fault.
